Amazing set of scores today and another tightly fought competition. Shane had told me he softened the tough stands a bit and that he had seen a scorecard of 72 before we shot. Every score I received had beaten the shooters handicap by at least three targets. An impressice set of results that must have pleased every shooter.
Top gun by a single point was Len Sandford's greatly improved 65 kills. Runner up just a single point behind was Eric Hall who matched his best ever score.from 5 and 8 years ago with a superb 64. Back to top form now Eric? Bronze spot went to Steve Honner's handicap advantage as his 63 was matched by Dave Salter and Julian Waszczak. Handicap top spot went to Don Walford who popped in an amazing score of 51 to beat his seasons average by over 16 points. Eric Hall's score gave him the Silver position just over a point behind Don. Bronze went to Len who trailed 3 points behind Eric.
An incredible set of results that must have given everyone on the ground a serious lift of confidence. Well done everyone, (especially Shane).
A tight competition at South Worcester this week with 4 of the 5 shooters beating their averages. Top Shot with 82 targets destroyed, was Geoff Pomroy, a former 'most improved' gun who is now regularly amongst our top scorers wherever he shoots. His positive approach to testing stands is a lesson for everyone. He does not let the targets beat him. He simply returns after the squad have finished and practices the stand until he masters the difficult targets. To his absolute credit, in true CDA style, he counts his extra birds and declares them when settling his bill. Runner up, just one target behind was Len Sandford, currently enjoying a change of muskets that seems to be working well. Tony Gray took the Bronze spot with 75 'kills'. The Handicap positions remained the same as the scratch results. A super close match that was enjoyed by everyone.
