The weather forecast gave warnings of ‘The Beast from the East’ and those with more sense, remained in the warm. It was bitterly cold but far worse was to follow as the South Worcester contingent was about to discover.
Thanks for the attendance warnings, really helpful for sorting the squads, particularly in these conditions. We still had fifteen Dodgers turn up!
It was a ‘kind’ shoot and thoughts and thanks go to the team at HWSG, particularly Shane, for ensuring that everything worked well in the conditions.
Li was high gun with 64/75. Very well done to Ian J who shot an all-time personal best of 60/75 and is this week’s worthy handicap winner. Ian’s card indicated 62/75 but KotR just could not find a way of making 4 + 4 = 10. (Just down to miss reading a number which is easily done in those circumstances).
Trevor managed 60/75 with his 20 gauge, quite possibly would have had an extra two kills if his squad had let him shoot the full 75 targets! (Make a note of that in your little book, please Malcolm!)

Ian E always avoids shooting if the weather looks like turning wet. However, the Norse Gods spotted their opportunity, and decided to wreak their vengeance, which was mighty! John G had come down as a spectator; his multi-layers preventing him from mounting his gun.
Hopefully, he was able to see the funny side of it all. Half-way through the second stand, Trevor, unable to see the targets, was forced to stop. We headed for shelter but Trevor thought better of continuing as he didn’t want to risk being stuck on the motorway with his colostomy bag ‘backing-up’! The others would continue and their perseverance was rewarded when bright sunshine developed. They probably didn’t have to queue for a stand either!
