With a poor weather forcast it was no surprise to find our numbers down last Wednesday. The rain held off for most of the day but the strong winds made many simple targets quite interesting but some great scores were recorded nevertheless.
Two scores of 65 were returned with Gary Griffiths taking the Gold spot on Handicap adjustment, just beating Bob Warder. A similar situation for the Bronze position. Two scores of 63 resulted in Geoff Pomroy beating Bob Jordan by just one tenth of a point on handicap. Tight scores indeed. Handicap Gold was won by the top scoring Gary Griffiths. His recent improvements have been nothing short of remarkable. Gary has always been a keen and competetive shooter but has had to work over the past few years to resolve persistent vision problems, I believe he's now back at his best. Trust me, he will be setting some good bench marks for our top guns in future.
Robert Wilson didn't manage a full round but his average score was certainly good enough to take the handicap Silver spot. Handicap third was taken by Geoff Pomroy.
South Worcester remained very windy but it stayed dry until the heavens opened on the last stand. We still had a lively afternoon's sport. Scores were low and much profanity was in evidence. Geoff Pomroy took scratch gold with just 63 broken clays. Len could manage only 59 but that was a Silver performance. Trevor's 48 took bronze position. Handicap winner was John Griffiths with Geoff Pomroy taking the SIlver spot. Trevor took the Handicap Bronze. All SW scores were at least 11 breaks below average so a tough afternoon for all. On the Admin side, can I thank Dave Gee for volunteering to monitor the Medals distribution each week.
Can you please return your weekly medals to David who will pass them on.
