Once again, the writer was absent last week so a results analysis is the best I can do.
I do know it was probably the hottest (on a temperature scale) shoot of the year. Julian Wazczak gave us a glimpse of the form that won him the scratch gold at our 2020 Xmas shoot. His 60 kills last week took the Gold again, beating Bob Warder by just 2 points.
The Handicap was an even closer affair. An excellent 55 from Simon Honeyborne and a equally impressive 51 from Malcolm Speer meant that both beat their averages by 6 clear points.
Simon took the top spot by just 0.12 of a point. Superb shooting all round.
Julian Shuker would have enjoyed this level of competion but unfortunately he missed the shoot having ventured into a far more dangerous pastime during the previous week. He had damaged an achilles tendon showing his grandson how much his soccer dribbling skills had improved during the last 60 years. I suspect he'll be out for a couple of months.
Dave Salter returned to top form at South Worcester. His 81 beat Tony Gray into 2nd spot by 9 clear points, It also took the handicap award, beating John Griffiths's mighty 28g by just 1.5 handicap points. Be glad to get back amongst you next week.
