A Funeral restricted the squad at SW to just two of us.
Another close run thing but Dave Salter's 81% prevailed, beating Len by a single target. A better squad next week. A stifling but enjoyable day all round.
Hi Dodgers, Last weeks star has to be Suzanne. Putting in her best score of the year, she walked away with the Handicap medal this week. (While she's shooting like this, I should hate to be an unwanted pigeon in her back garden!)
Trevor Griffiths was a creditable runner up, proving that his 28g is a capable clay breaker in his hands. Len Sandford's modest 60 was enough to take the scratch medal this week, closely followed by Bob Waeder's 59.
A couple of good targets kept the scores down. A far looper on Skeet 1 caught out most guns while the mini target over the back of the pond was also an easily misinterpreted target. Credit to the ground staff for putting on another good shoot.
A small squad at South Worcester with no-one beating their average this week. Len was high gun with 73%. This also took the handicap award.
Both grounds are running well considering the Covid-19 rules prevailing at the moment. It itakes considerable commitment to observe a strict 2mtr social distancing regime but it is great to see common sense prevailing universally with shooters and ground staff fully respecting the personal space of others.
Our shooting grounds are now as safe if not safer than any other outdoor environment. Let's stay careful and keep it so.
