Very well done again this week to Dave N on achieving high gun for the second week following. He does have to share this with Len, both scoring 56/75.
A cunning ploy was adopted by Simon’s squad who managed to find more targets to shoot than all the other squads. Off to the naughty step please!
Mike was handicap winner and the average score was 45.3. So far this year, we have only had one score over 60! Don’t forget Dodgers, there is a shield available for anyone scoring 70 or above!
It was a pleasant January day without a cold wind but there was strong sunshine. Our scores were once again lower than usual but we can use ‘Phil the Greeks’ excuse and blame that on the strong sunshine.
Suz managed to attend this week. She is affected by the cold conditions but made the effort as she had not shot with us for a while. She was wearing a splendid woollen hat which rivalled the one which Malcolm has been wearing for the last few weeks. However, in event of a competition between the two of them, Malcolm would win on handicap (as he comes from Worcester).
There were a few problems with the traps because of the freezing conditions over night. They were quickly sorted out.
Great work is being done to provide steps at the far end of the ground. This is very much appreciated and far safer for us. Over many years, there have been constant improvements to the ground so well done HWSG for ensuring out shooting is so enjoyable.
At South Worcester, we were treated to some very challenging targets. Len scored 82/100 and was high gun and handicap winner. John hit some good targets and scored 67% even though his arm was causing him problems.
