We were fortunate once again as the rain which was promised, didn’t trouble us.

An excellent course, which should have pleased all abilities. Some testing targets combined with some easier ‘regular’ ones gave everyone the opportunity of producing a pleasing score.

High gun was Bob W with 66/75. Chris won this week’s handicap medal with 56/75. The average score was 52.0. There were four scores in the 60’s and twelve in the 50’s, two of these achieved with 20 gauges.

There were five squads this morning. Several regular members were unable to attend. Our numbers have increased significantly over the last eighteen months and KotR believes that our ethos should not be lost.

A small group of people came together at HWSG over ten years ago to shoot clay pigeons. Many did not enjoy good health and John Young referred to us as Coffin Dodgers, a name which has remained. Our group slowly increased in number and younger, fitter members were made welcome.

Every week we shoot for the Scratch medal and the Handicap medal, with scores being recorded in order for an accurate handicap to be produced. Gradually, other things developed. Bob J instigated our badges. He also produces key rings from spent cartridges which are sold at the club and have made hundreds for MacMillan Cancer charity. Roger rabbit was brought along – our Twitter feed face. He was kidnapped several years ago and freed when a ransom was paid to Acorn’s hospice.

One Christmas, Rose made a cake in Roger’s image. This went to a hospice in Stourbridge. Our website is managed by Keith, a friend of Len’s, he will be attending our Christmas shoot and then producing features for our website.

This is certainly not a complete list of contributions from people who have contact with us, but hopefully it will give newer arrivals some knowledge of our heritage.
