The mathematical gremlins descended upon HWSG this week. We were treated to an extra pair of targets which we shot over twelve stands and no squad was left unericed, with KotR ensuring his squad didn’t miss out on the ‘cock-ups’.
The only person to benefit was Rose, whose score goes up to 48. Our eponymous hero will be pleased to learn that he was high gun in his squad as Peter drops two points. Ian J drops one point and Ian E two points. Bob J was not well at all on Wednesday but he managed high gun with 61, even after KotR had deducted two targets which had been incorrectly added (so much for his new varifocal glasses!). Bob also won the handicap.
We had a good turnout on Wednesday with four squads. The extra two stands helped the flow of shooters around the ground which is appreciated, particularly as this mid-week shoot is now very well attended. Again, we had a very good course to shoot. Some challenging targets but all shooters should have been happy with the layout.
Shane does a good job in setting different targets for us. Trevor was very happy with hitting one of the high loopers on the skeet range and three targets over the far pond with his 410.
Towards the end of the morning, one of the traps needed replenishing. Wonderful thing mobile communication. Trevor began to phone Shane only to meet him on his way to the stand. ‘I heard Robert shouting my name!’ he said. To be fair, most of the inmates at Hewell probably did as well.
The usual Dodgers made their way down to South Worcester. John G used his 28g Caesar Guerini to make some good kills. Not shooting a full round at the moment because of arm/shoulder problem. As usual we were exposed to the merry wit and banter of our squad, or should that be insults and sarcasm? At one point Ian said, ‘I shall say no more!’ but he wouldn’t put it in writing when asked!
Just a reminder, any past Dodger who fancies joining us again, you will be welcome.
