CHRISTMAS SHOOT Dec 21st 2016
There was a high turnout for our Christmas shoot with thirty people being squadded into six groups.

Great start to the day with warm samosas and sausage rolls from Bob J and Len. We had a good set of targets to shoot which gave us a testing but enjoyable shoot. Most of us managed to complete the course without undue delay and the foreboding weather forecast didn’t materialise so we all stayed dry.
Len was high gun with the only score in the 60’s and Bob J and Bob W tied for 2nd. place with 59/75. Bob J’s handicap score saw him victorious. Howard won the handicap award with Robert runner up, just beating Simon by a mere fraction of a point. The coveted St. Jude’s medal was awarded to Malcolm.
Malcolm presented The Alan Painting Memorial Trophy to Rose and Eric. This is not shot for competitively. The trophy is now held by two of us throughout the year. Whoever scores closest to Alan’s final handicap score (83.13) during the last week of June, will hold the cup for the first six months. Whoever, at the end of the year, scores closest to Alan’s 2014 total (1890 targets) will hold it for the remainder of the year. A person will only look after it on one occasion. This should ensure that more of us will have the privilege of its custody.
